2026 Election Overview

2026 is a federal midterm election year.

  • Primary Election: May 5, 2026
    • Ohio voters will select a political party ballot and vote to determine which candidates advance to the general election.
  • General Election: November 3, 2026

What’s on the ballot:

  • All 435 seats in the U.S. House of Representatives
  • 35 U.S. Senate seats nationwide
  • A special U.S. Senate election in Ohio to fill the vacancy left by J.D. Vance (currently filled by an interim appointment)

For Greene County voters:

  • You will vote in your assigned U.S. House district (district boundaries were updated following recent redistricting—check your district using the voter lookup tool above).
  • All 99 Ohio House seats and 17 Ohio Senate seats will be on the ballot.
  • Ohio will also elect:
    • Governor
    • Statewide executive offices
    • Ohio Supreme Court justices

If you are a Greene County voter, you can quickly check your voter registration status and confirm your polling location online. Visit:

Enter your name and click “Submit,” then select “Voter Details” to view your registration, voting history, and districts.

Voting Identification Requirements

To vote in person, either on Election Day or during early voting, you must bring a valid government-issued photo ID.

If you choose to vote by mail, you do not need a photo ID. Instead, you can provide:

  • The last four digits of your Social Security number, or
  • Your Ohio driver’s license number

You may also submit a copy of an approved ID.

Accepted IDs for in-person voting:

  • Ohio driver’s license
  • State of Ohio ID card
  • Interim ID issued by the Ohio BMV
  • U.S. passport or passport card
  • U.S. military ID card
  • Ohio National Guard ID card
  • U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs ID card

All photo IDs must:

  • Be unexpired
  • Include a photo
  • Have a name that substantially matches your voter registration

Note: Digital IDs are not accepted.
