Significant election law changes passed by our GOP-led Legislature include the state’s first photo ID voting requirement. You will need a photo ID in order to vote in-person (either early voting or on election day). You can vote by mail without a photo ID. The law also shrinks the window for mail-in ballots to be counted, for curing provisional ballots, and it eliminates one day of early voting — the Monday before Election Day.  If you are planning to vote by mail, send your application in now.

Ohio voters can vote on Election Day, vote early at the Greene County Board of Elections, or vote by mail.

You will need two stamps if you are mailing your ballot. 70 cents postage is required!

All Ohio voters whose registration information is up-to-date have the opportunity to vote in any election from the convenience of their own homes by requesting an absentee ballot. You must submit a request for absentee ballot for each election. You don’t need a photo ID, just the last 4 digits of your SS#.
Absentee voting has many benefits — you can vote early, it is convenient, it reduces the chance of lines at the polls on Election Day, and absentee ballots are the first votes counted on Election Night.

If you request an absentee ballot and then decide to vote at the polls on Election Day, you will have to vote a provisional ballot.

In order to vote by mail in Greene County, you will need to:
1. Obtain an absentee ballot request form. Download it here and print it or request one from the Board of Elections or get one from the GCDP office
.
2. Fill out the Absentee Ballot request and mail it to the Greene County Board of Elections at 551 Ledbetter Rd., Xenia, OH 45385. Or drop it off at the secure drop box at the Board of Elections. 3. Receive Absentee Ballot by USPS mail.
