{"id":1034,"date":"2020-02-26T22:00:41","date_gmt":"2020-02-27T03:00:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gcdp.org\/staging\/2069\/?p=1034"},"modified":"2020-02-26T22:00:41","modified_gmt":"2020-02-27T03:00:41","slug":"ohio-democratic-party-job-posting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gcdp.org\/staging\/2069\/ohio-democratic-party-job-posting\/","title":{"rendered":"Ohio Democratic Party Job Posting"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Position Title: <\/strong>Field Director<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Location: <\/strong>Columbus, Ohio<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Job Type:<\/strong> Full-Time<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Job Duration:<\/strong> Core position at ODP; can\nbe negotiated beyond 2020 cycle <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Preferred Experience: <\/strong>previous work in\nOhio, 3 years political experience, 1 full cycle on statewide race,\ncongressional race or state-based organization <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Ohio Democratic Party is seeking a Field\nDirector to oversee the execution of ODP\u2019s volunteer outreach and voter engagement\nprogram statewide. <\/strong>This Director is responsible for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Managing voter engagement projects and initiatives from\ninception to completion;<\/li><li>Managing team of political outreach and organizing\nstaff;<\/li><li>Drafting &amp; executing the statewide field plan &amp;\nhiring and training field staff;&nbsp;\nImplementing field \u2018best practices\u2019 and reporting procedures;<\/li><li>Drafting memos and other documents for internal and\nexternal stakeholders;<\/li><li>Building relationships with local leaders, key\nstakeholders, county chairs and activists in preparation for a statewide\ncampaign effort; and<\/li><li>Building a strong party for future years and election\ncycles.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This position reports to the Executive Director\nwith substantial involvement from the Director of Party Affairs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Qualified candidates should have: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>At least four cycles\nof field experience on issue or electoral campaigns, with two cycles managing\nstaff;<\/li><li>Strong written and\nverbal communication skills;<\/li><li>Excellent interpersonal skills (e.g. respectful,\ninclusive, active listening, ability to make people feel comfortable, ability\nto persuade without appearing overly domineering, etc.);\u2019<\/li><li>Good time management skills and the ability to\nmanage multiple projects simultaneously;<\/li><li>Extensive experience\nwith VoteBuilder;<\/li><li>Be comfortable and\nconfident in public speaking; be prepared to be the public face of the\norganization at times;<\/li><li>The ability to build and motivate a team;<\/li><li>Some experience with political, constituency, or\ncommunity organizing helpful;<\/li><li>Commitment to details,\nresults meeting goals, and using data to inform decisions in the field;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The position is highly collaborative and crucial\nto ODP achieving its mission of electing Democrats 2019 and 2020. Thus, the\nDirector should be prepared to take on any and all additional duties as\nassigned to that end.
